Born in 1971 to an artistic family, Rosie was encouraged to paint from an early age. She went on to read Art History at Edinburgh University, attending graduate classes at Edinburgh College of Art and later continued her studies at Putney School of Art and Design and at Heatherley School of Fine Art in Chelsea. Rosie now lives and paints from her studio in London.
In the last few years she has exhibited at numerous exhibitions in London and the home counties including The Affordable Art Fair in Battersea, The New English Art Club and The Royal Society of Oil Painters Annual Exhibitions at the Mall Galleries and Nadia Waterfield Fine Art, Andover.
Rosie enjoys painting directly from observation either outside ‘en plein air’ immersed in the landscape or back in the studio working on a still life or the figure. She has developed a painterly, expressive style which she uses to capture the essence of a subject and explore her love of form, colour and light.
Rosie works mainly in oils but enjoys experimenting with a variety of techniques in acrylic, watercolour, inks, pastel and charcoal.
