Richard Foster was born in 1945 and lives mostly in London.  He was educated at Harrow School, Studio Simi in Florence, Trinity College Oxford, Studio Simi again and the City & Guilds of London Art School.

He is a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and former Vice President. He exhibits regularly at various group shows and also has had eleven one-man exhibitions.  His last one was in Cork Street in June 2013.  

Most of his time is devoted to portrait painting but he also does landscapes and other things for his one-man exhibitions.
