Emma Hill is a figurative painter living and working in London. Emma’s work encompasses still life, portraits and landscape, intimate interior scenes and quiet corners in London gardens.
Emma had an art school training in the early 1990s, both in the UK (BA Hons Fine Art and French at Exeter University) and in France (Ecole Supérieure d’Art, Aix-en-Provence). Seduced by the world of glossy magazines, Emma then became an award-winning beauty and fragrance journalist writing about the subject for many years.
Over the past 15 years Emma has dovetailed her work as a journalist with her life as a painter exhibiting in group shows as well as independently. Finding The Light, was Emma’s most recent solo exhibition, at 35 North Contemporary Fine Art in Brighton. The sell-out show featured still life flower paintings and a small number of plein air paintings made both in her compact London garden and the gardens at Chiswick House in West London.
Paintings by Emma Hill have been pre-selected for both the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the New English Art Club. Emma has exhibited with the Chelsea Art Society and has had two previous solo shows in London in 2004 and 2019.
