Artist statement

After 55 years  of sailing an injury made Chris take up to his second passion painting. Any maritime subject as a start has grown to include town and landscapes and people. London and the Thames Estuary provide much of his subject matter.

He paints what he sees and tries to capture the mood of the moment that attracts him to a subject. He is self taught. He works mainly in pastels or oils and occasionally water colour . He is also a print maker.

He is currently a member of the Wapping Group of Artists and The Chelsea Art Society.

Chris exhibits with the Wapping Group of Artists, R.S.M.A , R.O.I, The Pastel Society, The Discerning Eye.
