John Stillman



John Stillman was born in Carshalton, Surrey in 1968, he has worked as a book illustrator and there after a career in advertising as a graphic artist. In 2006 he left the world of advertising to become a professional artist. He has held many successful solo exhibitions and his paintings have featured in group and open exhibitions. These include 'The Royal Society of Marine Artists' and 'The Royal Institute of Oil Painters' at the Mall Galleries, London. He has also had his paintings exhibited at 'The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition' in London. He is a a member of 'The Wapping Group of Artists', and a council member of the 'Chelsea Art Society' aswell as a member of his local 'Croydon Art Society'. His paintings are held in numerous private collections from the United Kingdom to America, France and Australia.

In 2011 he published his first book 'The Paintings of John Stillman' which is a collection of over 100 paintings and text by John, outlining his career to date with foreword by Trevor Chamberlain ROI RSMA.
